Michiel is globally responsible for all transport, warehouses, and logistic operations of Ravago. (5MM MT of Plastics, Rubbers & Chemicals: over €400 MM expenditures). His biggest success in the past 6 months was the realisation of new logistic hub in Baytown, TX ($90MM in CAPEX. Envisioned start-up: Q3 2017). This facility will serve Ravago’s domestic & increasing export business out of USA. It will enable Ravago to capture additional commercial opportunities, linked to the strong increases plastics’ production capacity in North America.

14:40 CASE STUDY PRESENTATION: Sharing infrastructure and processes across channels to support sales and increase distribution efficiency

With the aspiration of being the best service provider to the industry, Ravago offers the deepest level of service to both customers and suppliers.
Today, Ravago is heavily invested in a number of warehouses, located in strategic regions across the globe. These logistics centers operate with a lean philosophy, which allows Ravago to achieve its goal of having the lowest cost to serve its customers.
The Ravago logistics operations handle a broad range of routine operations (such as bulk handling and packaging operations), and more sophisticated value added services (such as blending and pulverizing of resin).
To further increase the efficiency of its network, Ravago decided to strengthen its supply chain design capabilities and review its network across the company's different channels.
This has resulted in a change of locations and flows to increase market proximity and payload simultaneously.
Changing flows also required a change of planning strategies, blending push and pull into a harmonized multi-echelon replenishment planning.
